Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of 6 months safety/security experience in a public assembly, hotel, or commercial setting
- knowledge of emergency response and crisis management
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- good communication skills
- reliability and professionalism
- ability to operate radios, video and fire alarm equipment
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- minimum of 6 months safety/security experience in a public assembly, hotel, or commercial facility
- knowledge of effective emergency response and crisis management
- history of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
- problem resolution skills
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to operate radios, video equipment, and fire alarm systems
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred
Job Duties
- Enforces public safety policies and procedures during assigned events
- conducts interior and exterior rounds and reports any unusual issues or incidents
- provide safety escorts as requested
- documents all notable incidents in the appropriate logbooks
- participates in incident investigations as needed
- directs visitors, vendors, deliveries, and related personnel to proper areas
- notifies appropriate personnel of arrivals and departures
- monitors persons on the premises to ensure proper identification and authorization
- performs crowd and traffic flow controls during events
- responds to emergency situations and alerts emergency response teams
- conducts safety inspections and assists with corrective actions
- may direct contracted security personnel
- opens and/or closes the Wilmington Convention Center building on scheduled days
- monitors physical security equipment such as key control, badge access, and video surveillance
- secures locations and restricts unauthorized access
- enforces security policies related to crime prevention and building protection
