Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • six to twelve months related experience and/or training
  • ability to read and write in English
  • perform mathematical computations such as adding and multiplying
  • effective customer communication
  • tact and diplomacy in issue resolution
  • availability to work night shifts including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and lift 25-50 pounds
  • maintain professional appearance with uniform care
  • adhere to hotel policies and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • effective communication skills with customers
  • tact and diplomacy in resolving issues
  • knowledge of front desk systems such as FOSSE and GXP
  • understanding of hotel operations and guest service standards
  • experience with financial and auditing procedures
  • ability to work night shifts including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to perform duties including standing and lifting
  • ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Complete and stay current on all Courtyard by Marriott mandated training and certifications
  • accurately make reservations for guests staying with hotel
  • protect the security and privacy of guests and clients
  • check guests into the hotel following proper procedures
  • check guests out of the hotel, providing a fond farewell
  • communicate with bell/driver staff to ensure timely pick up and drop off of guests
  • accurately record and input wakeup call information
  • assist guests with billing inquiries
  • assist and direct guests to meeting rooms and stay informed on current meetings
  • provide information about local attractions and hotel amenities
  • assist management with daily arrivals and HHonors assignments
  • exceed guest expectations and support guest services staff
  • contribute to a cooperative team culture
  • ensure brand standards of operations, safety, and services
  • execute strategies to meet hotel goals and benchmarks
  • follow financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, and receivables
  • assist with group information entry and banquet billing
  • close and balance all room accounts
  • count and balance cash and credit card receipts
  • balance direct bill accounts and verify vouchers
  • run trial balance reports
  • investigate and correct out-of-balance situations
  • complete various computer audit reports
  • coordinate with housekeeping and engineering for guest requests and hotel maintenance
  • maintain uniform standards
  • perform any other duties assigned by supervisors
