Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles preferred
  • Ability to operate computers and reservation software
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Comfortable handling money and payment transactions
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Familiarity with hotel reservation and point-of-sale systems
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of local area and hotel services
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and complete the registration process including inputting and retrieving information, confirming guest details and room rates, selecting rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing welcome packets, and ensuring guests know their room location or are accompanied by a bell person
  • Assist guests with check-out by ensuring all rooms and services are accounted for, handling payments using the point-of-sale system, processing credit and debit cards, accepting various forms of payment, converting foreign currency, making change, and processing gift certificates and cards
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel information such as room categories, rates, packages, promotions, local area details, and answer guest inquiries
  • Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities to maximize room occupancy
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues efficiently
  • Handle guest complaints by conducting research, negotiating solutions, and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Receive, input, retrieve, and relay messages to guests
