Job Requirements
- Two year degree or comparable experience in relevant fields
- Minimum one year experience in teaching or training
- Minimum one year experience in management with fiscal and supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in diverse weather conditions
- Ability to work with children kindergarten through eighth grade
- Must pass non-DOT drug and alcohol screening
- Criminal history background check
- Sex offender status check
- Motor vehicle report check
- Ability to track and report volunteer hours
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to take direction and constructive feedback
Job Qualifications
- Completion of a two year degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, sustainability, food systems, education, environmental studies or related area
- One year experience in training, teaching or conducting presentations
- One year experience managing an initiative or organization with planning, fiscal control, revenue generation, staff supervision and community relations
- Experience preferably in a non-profit environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work with kids of all ages
- Knowledge of Google Suite Apps or willingness to learn
- Ability to create presentations using MS PowerPoint or Google Presentation app
- Creative and flexible problem-solving skills
- Artistic or multimedia skills are a plus
Job Duties
- Work with the Board to develop annual and long-range strategic plans
- Participate in financial planning and administer the operational budget
- Develop measurable goals, implement plans, and budgets
- Supervise interns and Americorp Service Members assigned to Dunbar Garden
- Delegate tasks to service members and volunteers
- Provide the Board with comprehensive financial reports
- Oversee the operation of Dunbar Garden including event organization, volunteer program development, farm planning, crop scheduling, and product distribution
- Act as a spokesperson and strengthen community relationships
- Manage marketing, branding, community outreach, and online presence
- Coordinate with educators for garden access
- Supervise on-site market operations
- Foster teamwork through flexible problem-solving
- Maintain volunteer hour tracking
- Evaluate market efficacy
