Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- relevant training or certification in culinary arts highly preferred
- experience in culinary instruction or workforce development teaching
- ability to perform practical demonstrations
- proficiency in preparing lesson plans and assessments
- capability to maintain accurate records
- willing to submit unofficial transcripts and/or training certifications
- ability to provide official transcripts prior to employment
- validation of international degrees if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred
- previous experience teaching culinary arts or workforce development programs
- strong knowledge of sanitation, safety, and cooking techniques
- excellent communication and instructional skills
- ability to develop curriculum and prepare educational materials
- experience with student evaluation and record keeping
- ability to demonstrate culinary skills effectively
Job Duties
- Establish and maintain standards for culinary classroom and lab sanitation and safety
- instruct students in proper knife skills, dress code, sanitation, and fundamental cooking techniques
- evaluate student performance through testing and practical exams
- provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students
- prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
- develop and prepare supplemental materials and tests
- maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
- oversee implementation of teaching area policies and procedures
- demonstrate skills through classroom demonstrations
- provide feedback and constructive criticism to students
- assess lesson relevance and recommend improvements
- perform other duties as assigned
