Job Duties

  • prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or improve recipes
  • ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food including monitoring portion control
  • maintains accurate record of chargeable meals and submits records on time
  • assists with menu planning including seasonal ingredient consideration and vendor pricing
  • assists in identifying food and supplies needed for menus and reports to dietary manager
  • prepares meats for storage and controls portion upon delivery
  • maintains a clean, orderly, safe and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training other kitchen staff in food preparation
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures and updates
