Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a food service establishment
  • Ability to work as a member of the team and communicate with kitchen staff
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and transport food and small equipment
  • Ability to bend knees frequently
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to have moderate hearing and excellent vision to perform tasks
  • Literacy and comprehension skills to read usage records and special requests
  • Ability to regularly move up to 30 to 50 feet

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare foods of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • Begin with foods prepared in advance, ensuring not to prepare more than estimated needs
  • Date all food containers and rotate according to policy, ensuring all perishables are maintained at appropriate temperatures
  • Monitor depleted items or potential shortages
  • Return all unused food during the shift to designated storage areas, ensuring to cover and date all perishables
  • Assist in establishing plans and actions to correct any food cost issues
