Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or cashier experience preferred
- Ability to work part-time hours including evenings and weekends
- Basic proficiency in using cash registers and handling electronic payments
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of front end policies and procedures is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Greet customers and make eye contact
- Inquire about their membership status
- Knowledgeable of HWFC front end policies
- Answer customers' questions and refer unanswerable questions or concerns to a Front-End Manager
- Serve each customer as efficiently as possible
- Always offer to bag/box customers' orders and then bag if offer is accepted
- Inform a FE Manager or keep written verification of any price/scanning/PLU discrepancies
- Follow all Front End policies and procedures for cash handling, electronic tenders, and check approval
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
- Wipe up spills/leaks promptly and keep conveyor belt clean for future customers
- Open and cash out registers following all established procedures
- Alert a FE Floor Manager to potential shoplifters, disorderly or disruptive customers, and other emergencies
- Distribute bags to the registers
- Refill register supplies including tokens, utensils, rubber bands, and coffee/juice cards
- Keep register end-caps and magazine racks clean and organized
