Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment
  • Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work as an effective team player with initiative
  • Limited Food Manager’s Certificate may be obtained when hired

Job Duties

  • Plan and provide daily lunch menu for the PROS program
  • Operate food production equipment including oven, stove, microwave, and coffee makers
  • Maintain, clean, and sanitize workstations
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen containers
  • Refill condiments and other kitchen supplies
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure quality food service
  • Wrap, date-label, and store food items properly
  • Assist with menu planning, food ordering, and shopping as needed
  • Work with PROS participants to teach and demonstrate food service tasks
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Report to the Program Director/Supervisor
  • Function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Report safety issues or concerns promptly
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
