Job Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
  • Highly efficient in AutoCAD and 3D rendering programs like SketchUp
  • Skilled in hand-sketching

  • Ability to balance design with operational needs and budget objectives to create exceptional store environments
  • Capable of translating design principles into unique store locations

Job Duties

  • Manage new and remodel store design and development projects, collaborating with internal and external partners including retail, restaurant and Marlin Bar operations partners, visual merchandising/merchants, IT and security, finance, leasing/brokers/developers and landlords, construction, external consultants, architect
  • Drive and guide the design process from concept to construction start including schematic design, design development and project management phases
  • Initiate space plans/test fits to determine feasibility for each location by adapting prototype for each business category’s physical requirements in compliance with building/safety code guidelines
  • Develop conceptual design direction that meets Tommy Bahama brand standards and maximizes the guest experience
  • Manage external architects on all aspects of the project to meet design development calendar process and due dates
  • Oversee and manage the materials and finishes review and selection processes
  • Develop, oversee and manage the project calendar and budget/expenses to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
  • Partner with the Construction team to deliver design development and construction document sets on a timely basis, obtain necessary permits, conduct site visits, and resolve site challenges timely and cost effectively
  • Review and assess change orders
  • Assist in negotiation and obtaining approvals from developers and landlords
  • Review and edit related documents such as Work Letters and Exhibit Cs
  • Perform other duties as needed to support overall business objectives
