Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering preferred
  • Five years of project management experience with proven customer service
  • Knowledge of design and construction business practices
  • Experience with design and construction methodologies for various building types
  • Detail oriented and strategic thinker with planning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize tasks and resolve problems
  • Builds and sustains positive and collaborative working relationships
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Business Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience as per Johns Hopkins equivalency formula

Job Duties

  • Manage multiple renovation, tenant fit-out, and capital renewal projects with tight timelines
  • Provide exemplary customer service by actively managing project process from initiation through completion
  • Work cohesively with all Johns Hopkins Facilities and Real Estate units and senior project managers
  • Represent the University to external constituencies including architects, engineers, constructors, and regulatory agencies
  • Review program requirements and scope, participate in project requests, and implement economic inclusion goals
  • Develop project milestone schedules and manage all project documentation using PM Web
  • Prepare and manage Requests for Proposals and review bids for award recommendations
  • Oversee project design, coordinate reviews, ensure compliance with policies and sustainable practices
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor project budgets, approve invoices and change orders
  • Coordinate project logistics and outage requirements, monitor construction schedules and compliance
  • Communicate project status clearly to various stakeholders and prepare reports
  • Make project decisions based on departmental standards with limited supervision
  • Advocate for collaboration and consensus building among project teams
