Job Qualifications

  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent required
  • 5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering, vertical construction is preferred
  • 2+ years' experience managing engineers and project subcontractors
  • ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications and contract documents
  • highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
  • strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurt

Job Duties

  • Perform contract compliance, quality control and field oversight of subcontractors on the project
  • develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications
  • inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies and potential cost-saving measures
  • take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues
  • review subordinates' work for compliance with contract documents
  • address deficiencies and implement corrective measures
  • project scheduling and coordination
  • develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software
  • collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy
  • document control and change management
  • handle project closeout
  • manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents
  • review new issue drawings for changes in conditions
  • quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor
  • distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation
  • cost forecasting and financial planning
  • prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems
  • develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning
  • operational improvement and leadership
  • recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods and procedures
  • serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects
  • provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff
