Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years' experience working with the elderly population or community volunteers
  • Ability to travel locally up to 25 percent of the time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation for local travel
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable senior populations

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years' experience working with the elderly population or community volunteers
  • Two-year degree in a related field a plus
  • Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and Word preferred
  • Ability to conduct public speaking engagements preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Conduct client intakes of seniors ages 60+ for the SEARCH program and match them with RSVP volunteers or senior companion volunteers
  • Match RSVP volunteers with two food pantries in Somerset County
  • Recruit volunteers
  • Provide volunteers with training, supervision, guidance, recognition, and support
  • Monitor matches made with clients and the volunteer support provided at food pantries
  • Document volunteer hours and services provided monthly
  • Conduct community outreach and marketing within Somerset County
