Job Requirements

  • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Current enrollment in a Master's degree program from an accredited college or university
  • Possession of a valid driver's license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in California may be required
  • Must be a current graduate student and required to upload a copy of current school schedule with accredited college or university's name
  • Ability to work onsite at the Energy Department located in downtown San Jose for a minimum of 24 hours per week during internship
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree
  • Current enrollment in a Master's degree program from an accredited college or university in business or public administration or a closely related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, and Python
  • Experience working with large data sets and conducting analysis to provide recommendations
  • Relevant coursework or training in sustainability, environmental studies, or energy programs or experience working in the public sector

Job Duties

  • Analyze data from existing programs and pilot programs to evaluate effectiveness and prepare reports
  • Propose and design new analyses to gain new insights into program operations and develop strategies to increase program participation
  • Review, track, and quality control applications and incentive payouts
  • Coordinate with billing services provider to issue payouts for program participation
  • Audit consultant interactions with customers/applicants to ensure rapid response times and satisfactory customer service
  • Monitor budgets, log invoices, analyze burn rates, and estimate upcoming costs for program tracking
  • Monitor data dashboards on CRM to closely track program performance metrics
  • Compile program portfolio reports on a regular basis and circulate to team, highlighting recent trends and changes
  • Routinely upload programs data files and troubleshoot as needed
  • Monitor and edit Power BI dashboards from data available in the database to find new trends in programs data
  • Update dashboards and slides for routine presentations of program performance and impacts
  • Work with marketing and programs equity lead to design customer feedback campaigns and analyze feedback to recommend program changes and improvements
  • Represent the programs team at community events and guide interested residents and businesses through the benefits and application processes of customer programs
