Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Flexibility to work Tuesday through Saturday and some events outside scheduled hours
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk as required
  • Ability to maintain positive rapport with residents

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in event planning or community programming preferred
  • Knowledge of senior living community needs and interests
  • Ability to maintain positive resident relationships
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Develops, implements and coordinates exercises, games, excursions, musical and cultural programs, and lectures to foster interpersonal relationships and socialization
  • Works with Programs Manager to regulate program content according to budget and resident needs
  • Organizes and coordinates special outings and accompanies residents
  • Designs, develops, organizes and updates program flyers and notices
  • Assists with organizing and maintaining the Outlook calendar of programs events
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments to facilitate scheduled events
  • Develops and maintains positive rapport with residents and encourages leisure activities
  • Assists in designing, developing and distributing the programs and wellness calendar and monthly newsletter
  • Collects and compiles attendance and participation records
  • Sets up and troubleshoots AV equipment for events
  • Works with Programs Manager to coordinate memorial services
  • Provides backup for all programs department duties
