The University of New Mexico (UNM) Comprehensive Cancer Center stands as the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and holds the prestigious distinction of being the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center within a 500-mile radius. This esteemed center is home to 136 board-certified oncology specialty physicians spanning various specialties, including cancer surgeons across abdominal, thoracic, bone and soft tissue, neurosurgery, genitourinary, gynecology, and head and neck cancers. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of experience directly related to duties
- Completed degree(s) from accredited institutions can substitute experience
- Ability to manage multi-million dollar event goals
- Compliance with University influenza vaccination requirement if applicable
- Ability to provide official educational transcripts
- Provide names of 3 professional references
- Pass a pre-employment background check

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Proven leadership in event management, fundraising or nonprofit sector
- Experience in healthcare or academic medical center preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Expertise in budgeting and financial forecasting
- Ability to collaborate with marketing teams
- Experience with CRM and event technology platforms
- Ability to design inclusive community events
- Excellent relationship-building skills
Job Duties
- Provide senior level management of all business operations and administration for major community events
- Develop and manage annual budgets, projections and cost analysis
- Ensure compliance with university, state, and federal laws and policies
- Manage logistics operations in collaboration with senior staff and consultants
- Collaborate with senior staff to delegate assignments and ensure high quality results
- Oversee planning, development, and implementation of Lobo Cancer Challenge event
- Provide leadership in fundraising strategies and partnerships
- Design and implement effective communication and marketing processes
- Organize and oversee community events and meetings
- Recruit, train, and operate a large volunteer base
