Job Requirements

  • bachelors degree
  • minimum of one year related work experience or combination of education and event planning and execution
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • ability to work flexible schedule and sometimes long hours including nights and weekends
  • outstanding presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • ability to work in fast-paced environment and multitask
  • flexibility to adapt to changing goals and priorities
  • ability to think and perform creatively
  • self-motivated and well organized with attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy
  • capable of executing tasks and resolving issues independently with minimal supervision
  • aptitude for serving as liaison between administrators in higher education and hospitality staff
  • ability to complete and maintain mandatory university training on schedule

Job Qualifications

  • outstanding presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

  • creative thinking and problem-solving skills

  • aptitude for liaising between higher education administrators and hospitality staff
  • proficiency with Microsoft 365 software preferred
  • experience working in higher education environment preferred
  • portfolio or work samples may be requested

Job Duties

  • plan and execute logistics for public and academic events
  • collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration for event coordination
  • manage event budgeting and conference space allocations
  • arrange catering, accommodations, travel, and technology support
  • process invoices and handle financial documentation
  • act as liaison between constituent groups and Institute members
  • prepare event spaces and manage speaker and attendee access
  • provide attendee services and troubleshoot issues during events
  • oversee day-of-event running and support event wrap-up and clean-up
