Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver’s license
- ability to work a flexible schedule
- capacity to travel frequently within the region of assignment
- ability to lift and or move up to 150 pounds with assistance
- must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms
- ability to speak, hear, and have required vision abilities including close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- must be exposed frequently to blood-borne pathogens, airborne particles, vibrations, and loud noise
- must be able to work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions

- two years of leadership experience preferred
- exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

- ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- ability to elicit staff involvement and positive problem solving
- ability to read, analyze, and interpret health and flight-related journals and legal documents
- computer literacy required
Job Duties
- coordinate the daily base activities of the flight nurse and flight paramedics by visiting the base at least three times a week
- collaborate with base pilot supervisor for pilot activities
- assure proper coverage for all medical shifts
- secure replacement staff for all work absences
- review electronic payroll of medical crew for accuracy and submit for approval
- resolve medically related flight problems or issues, or refer them appropriately
- recommend and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- assure proper use, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment and supplies
- oversee base spending and remain within budget
- conduct monthly staff meetings with the safety officer
- ensure crew follows policy for work-related injuries and exposures
- delegate assignments and hold employees accountable for work completion
- develop individual medical crew members' talents by promoting professional growth
- ensure medical crew licensure, certifications, and clinical requirements are met
- collaborate with clinical lead to ensure required OSHA training and compliance
- complete narcotic counts and report discrepancies
- interview and hire candidates for flight nurse and flight paramedic positions
- assist new employees through the orientation process
- prepare annual employee evaluations
- carry out disciplinary actions with appropriate input
- participate in interview process for pilots and mechanics
- collaborate with aviation and maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft reliability
- identify and establish strong business relationships with customers
- coordinate customer relations and marketing activities
- approve PR activities involving base aircraft
- attend local and regional EMS, hospital, and advisory group meetings
