Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum ten years progressive experience in design construction project management
  • Minimum five years managerial supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of structural engineering and construction management
  • Knowledge of transit rail operations
  • Ability to work extended hours nights and weekends
  • Valid driver's license

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Ten years significant progressive and responsible experience in design construction or project management
  • Minimum five years managerial supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of structural engineering and construction management practices
  • Knowledge of transit rail operations
  • Registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work during nights extended weekends and summer shutdowns
  • Valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Direct all phases of major multiple-project multiple-contract capital programs under Sr Program Manager
  • Establish goals procedures and objectives for assigned personnel and projects including resource budgets scheduling planning and organizing workload for subordinates
  • Approve design engineering and consultant management contracts procedures and modifications
  • Ensure all project plans studies and technical analyses are complete correct and conform to SEPTA and industry standards
  • Manage and direct activities of program management consultants
  • Direct preparation of final design plans and specifications
  • Prepare information required to solicit construction proposals
  • Evaluate construction contract bids and recommend awards
  • Coordinate direct resolve conflicts and approve construction-related activities of contractors vendors and consultants
  • Coordinate extensive project inspections ensuring compliance to plans schedules and budgets
  • Review and approve project changes while assuring conformity with established goals
  • Establish design and construction criteria standard specifications general plans standard plans and management procedures
  • Consult with management on problem identification and solutions related to engineering and construction
  • Comply with all authority and departmental safety and security policies report safety concerns hazards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
