Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant academic field
  • Experience in higher education teaching or industry
  • Proven leadership and administrative skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Capacity to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work extra hours including evenings as necessary
  • Ability to relocate to Glen Allen, VA campus if required

Job Qualifications

  • Possess appropriate degree based on academic subject and accreditation requirements
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation
  • Industry experience as required by accreditation
  • Proven administrative and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Superior organization and prioritization abilities
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Experience with learning management systems is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Job Duties

  • Administer academic support to ensure student retention and success
  • Provide advising and handle student issues
  • Evaluate transcripts for transfer student admissions
  • Monitor faculty follow-up on student progress
  • Assist with faculty hiring, training, and evaluation
  • Observe and review faculty instructional quality
  • Manage faculty schedules and class offerings
  • Lead program review and curriculum development
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and licensure standards
  • Develop course schedules for each term
  • Maintain documentation of student and instructor issues
  • Participate in budgeting and manage department expenses
  • Serve on academic and university committees
  • Maintain relationships with professional and community organizations
  • Promote student participation in professional and community activities
