Job Requirements
- Six years of related experience coordinating event logistics or bachelor’s degree plus two years of related experience or equivalent education and experience
- ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism and emotional intelligence
- willingness to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends
- physical ability to handle objects up to 25 pounds and stand or walk for over an hour
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- ability to learn and use custom database systems
- knowledge of bookkeeping practices
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Six years of related experience in event coordination or a bachelor’s degree plus two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- proficiency in managing multiple tasks with professional demeanor and emotional intelligence
- bachelor’s degree in hospitality, conference/event management, or communications with emphasis in event planning preferred
- experience in event management and coordination preferred
- understanding of USU campus policies and procedures preferred
- training or experience with EMS, Cvent, or Coursedog software preferred
- ability to work a non-traditional schedule including some evenings and weekends
- attention to detail
- thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office in a Windows environment
- ability to work with custom database systems
- knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices
- strong organizational and clerical skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Duties
- Provide client consultation
- liaise between the client and service partners and vendors to create successful events and meetings
- serve as the primary contact and supervisor of part-time employees
- oversee event contract creation and implementation
- learn and implement USU processes and procedures while meeting event expectations and outcomes
- compile and store all event data for historical use
- establish good working relationships with campus partners
- communicate ideas, goals, and objectives internally to obtain successful results
- prepare and track financial records ensuring accurate revenue and expenditure information
- develop and monitor comprehensive event/conference budgets
- administrate budgeting and final financial settlement of events
- review service provider invoices and approve payments
- communicate effectively with clients and university partners to reconcile bills and accounts
