Job Requirements
- Associates Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of catering or related hospitality work experience
- Experience in institutional food service preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Good interpersonal communication
- Ability to prepare and serve food safely
- Valid driver’s license
- Clear MVR and insurability under College insurance
- Capability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to manage multiple events and tasks efficiently.
Job Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Catering and Event Management, Restaurant Management, Baking and Pastry Arts, Nutrition and Dietetics, or Business Administration with emphasis in food and beverage or hospitality, or equivalent combination of education, certificates and/or work experience
- Three years of work experience in catering, food service operations, or hospitality
- Preferably three years in a college, university, or institutional food service setting
- Experience in menu planning, cost control, vendor coordination, and event logistics
- Prior supervisory experience is desirable
- ServSafe certification is beneficial
- Familiarity with POS and catering management systems such as Toast, Square, or Smartsheet
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organize and prepare food orders accurately and on time
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, vendors, and the public
- Valid Driver's License
- Successful passing of Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required for company vehicle use.
Job Duties
- Coordinate orders and requests from internal clients
- Respond to internal client phone calls and email requests for catering services
- Control food costs by monitoring waste and portion control, proper rotation of products, inventories, and proper use of equipment, including receiving and inspecting incoming food and non-food items
- Input catering orders for Aims signature events, coordinating with Aims Food Services as needed
- Order and coordinate needed supplies for events
- Organize current, future, and past event catering requests to streamline efficient service and ensure timely billing
- Coordinate logistics of internal catering including product availability, preventive maintenance, product rotation, and health and safety compliance
- Complete and perform catering duties on schedule, ensuring timely delivery and preparation in line with Health Department Guidelines
- Audit banquet checks for accurate invoicing and provide post-event invoice information
- Perform food and beverage preparation, presentation, and scullery tasks
- Set up, serve, and/or break down coffee breaks, receptions, and other functions
- Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures
- Occasionally support external client events and signature college events
- Ensure cleanliness of Welcome Center kitchen and Aims food truck and stock them with supplies
- Ensure compliance with local health department regulations
- Order and maintain inventory for beverage services
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of kitchen storage
- Maintain vetted food vendor list
- Assist in developing policies and procedures related to internal catering
- Serve as backup to the Banquet Coordinator when required.
