Job Requirements

  • master's degree or acceptable equivalency prior to employment start
  • at least one year post-bachelor’s or 9 months graduate assistantship experience in recreation or related field
  • ability to respond to on-call emergencies within 30 minutes
  • availability to work evenings and weekends
  • successful completion of background check
  • valid driver’s license if driving is required
  • required certifications obtained within 60 days of employment

Job Qualifications

  • master's degree from an accredited institution or acceptable equivalent experience
  • experience in collegiate recreation, athletics, or commercial/city recreation
  • ability to assess student needs and provide high student contact
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • standard first aid, CPR, and AED certification within 60 days of employment
  • demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

Job Duties

  • create, market, implement, and assess intramural and special event programs
  • supervise graduate assistants, program assistants, sports officials, and intramural supervisors
  • manage budgets and strategic planning for recreation programs
  • maintain high standards of student safety and risk management
  • provide 24/7 emergency on-call response
  • coordinate with Assistant Director for Recreation Programs
  • contribute to student satisfaction by fostering campus community through recreation
