Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or social sciences preferred
  • At least two years of relevant work experience
  • Training in counseling, supervision, and public relations recommended
  • Ability to supervise diverse volunteer groups
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organize volunteer programs
  • Knowledge of patient care and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work independently within department policies
  • Proficiency in managing records and scheduling
  • Commitment to upholding hospital values and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or social sciences preferred
  • Training in counseling, supervising, and public relations recommended
  • Highly skilled in written communication and public speaking
  • Experience in planning and organizing programs and services
  • Ability to supervise volunteers of diverse age groups and backgrounds
  • Knowledge of patient care considerations including aging and cultural patterns
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in interviewing, counseling, public speaking, program development, and training

Job Duties

  • Assist the Manager in planning volunteer service program goals and objectives
  • Develop forms, policies, and procedures related to volunteer services
  • Interview volunteer applicants and arrange appropriate placements
  • Coordinate training and conduct orientation sessions for volunteers
  • Maintain volunteer schedules and monitor attendance and behavior
  • Conduct performance evaluations and exit interviews for volunteers
  • Prepare statistical reports and correspondence such as solicitations and thank you letters
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and support groups for volunteer development
  • Monitor health screenings and ensure volunteer compliance with health services
  • Research community resources for volunteer recruitment and conduct outreach
  • Maintain department records, job descriptions, and communication logs
  • Serve on hospital committees representing Volunteer Services
  • Assist in planning volunteer recognition events and new service development
