Job Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skill in English grammar, spelling and business writing
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of arts management and event coordination
  • Proficiency with computer software for document and media production
  • High school education with additional training or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years experience in relevant programming
  • Ability to manage physical demands of the role including lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Availability to work under varied environmental conditions
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to city policies

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skill in English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation
  • Business letter writing and standard format for reports and correspondence
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Broad knowledge of arts management principles, event coordination and community programming
  • Skill in use of computer and software applications for documents, media, advertisements and website content
  • Equivalent to high school education plus specialized training
  • Minimum five years of experience in arts, educational or recreation programming
  • Previous municipal government experience desirable
  • Experience with live performance technical elements
  • Experience leading arts education or community programs
  • Proficiency in design software

Job Duties

  • Coordinate, implement, oversee, and promote city events and programs
  • Staff and monitor events, performances and programs at the Sherwood Center for the Arts
  • Coordinate summer outdoor programs including securing sponsors, vendors and entertainment
  • Process and distribute payments and collect money
  • Arrange for purchase or rentals as necessary
  • Serve as point of contact and coordinate day of event logistics
  • Coordinate marketing and promotions including electronic, digital and print media
