Job Requirements

  • Meet one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent
  • Comply with federal time-in-grade requirement for GS-13
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in assessment and improvement of nuclear deterrence and assurance operations
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of administrative laws and DoD/Air Force planning requirements
  • Have knowledge of acquisition and contracting processes
  • Apply analytical and evaluative techniques to program operations
  • Exhibit strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Provide clear documentation of unpaid, part-time, or volunteer experience where applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods
  • Comprehensive knowledge of administrative laws, policies, and regulations related to program administration
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense and Air Force planning requirements and budgeting systems
  • Skilled in acquisition and contracting processes including statement of work development and contractor performance evaluation
  • Ability to apply analytical techniques to program operations and organizational structuring
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Apply qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve command plans and programs
  • Participate in or conduct major military operations such as mission and flight operations, tactical airlift, tactical timing, rescue, deployment, mobilization, acquisition, special operations, exercises, and flying training systems
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual military events
  • Analyze and understand military command structures, missions, programs, and organizational relationships
  • Develop and implement organizational structuring options to improve program effectiveness and organizational productivity
  • Lead studies or projects and negotiate with management to implement recommendations
  • Communicate effectively to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy
