Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Meet specialized experience requirements as per OPM Qualification Standards
  • Have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 grade level or equivalent
  • Meet the Federal Time-In-Grade requirements for GS-13
  • Provide knowledge and experience in military command structure and operations
  • Demonstrate skills in comprehensive study design and project leadership
  • Exhibit abilities in negotiation and effective communication
  • Credit for unpaid or part-time work and volunteer experience can be considered
  • No mandatory educational qualification requirement

Job Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher
  • Expert knowledge of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods for military operations
  • Familiarity with military command structure, missions, and program goals
  • Skill in designing and conducting military operational and contingency studies
  • Ability to lead projects and negotiate with management
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Air Force military non-rated operations or maintenance expertise for assigned programs and weapons systems

Job Duties

  • Conduct assessments of command-level plans and programs for major military operations
  • Design and conduct comprehensive studies to provide solutions for broad military operational and contingency issues
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of planning actions related to operational and acquisition events
  • Lead and organize studies or projects and guide team members
  • Negotiate with management to implement recommendations involving significant resources and procedural changes
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing on complex military operational issues
  • Maintain strong working relationships with various military command entities
