Job Requirements
- Pass all or any pre-employment screenings including drug screening and physical exam
- Be flexible with shift change requirements
- Have reliable transportation throughout the season
- Must be able to work long hours including weekends
- Maintain reliable attendance throughout the season
- Ability to bend and lift 40-50 lbs
- Must comply with Union Collective Bargaining Agreement guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Capability to handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and long hours
Job Duties
- Follow a written recipe to create a formulated tomato sauce
- Weigh out ingredients to match the recipe
- Utilize a scale to weigh out ingredients
- Update a tracking sheet for individual ingredients
- Sweep and clean the seasoning room and equipment between shifts
- Clean and sweep all areas in the cannery and warehouse
- Inspect cans throughout the cannery
- Wash and clean empty cans
- Repair damaged cases by lifting and restacking cases up to 50 lbs
- Label stripping by cutting or slicing labels and restacking cans
- Clean all break rooms and other areas around the plant
- Dump garbage and assist the main Janitor in their daily routine
- Evaluate tomatoes on a moving conveyor belt and remove defective ones
- Spray chemicals and water to clean machinery throughout the cannery
- Maintain all production areas clean throughout their shift
