Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years experience in a production supervisory role

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food production or manufacturing supervision

  • experience with equipment monitoring and maintenance coordination
  • ability to conduct safety investigations and promote safety culture
  • effective conflict resolution and employee relations skills

Job Duties

  • Schedule, assign work, and provide clear direction to production employees
  • ensure that the production process flows smoothly, and daily production goals are met
  • monitor operations activities such as milk receiving, standardizing, pasteurization, separating, freezing, cooling, filling, mixing, packaging, storing to ensure plant production and quality standards are met
  • monitor the equipment used in production processes to ensure equipment is functioning efficiently and is cleaned and sanitized
  • arrange for timely repair or resolution of equipment failures
  • actively promote safe work behaviors and hold self and direct reports accountable for following safety rules and regulations
  • conduct accident or injury investigations and send reports to HR in a timely manner
  • understand and fulfill the requirements and regulations for food safety and quality
  • administer policies, procedures, and programs related to operations
  • supervise production scheduling to produce appropriate product quantities and varieties to fill orders and meet demand
  • ensure materials such as ingredients and packaging are staged for production runs
  • proactively look for ways to increase operational efficiency and contain costs
  • work effectively with employees to promote positive working relationships
  • apply work rules, union contract provisions, and employment policies
  • administer discipline consistently and fairly
  • communicate with employees through shift meetings and informal methods
  • complete supervisory activities such as administering promotions and transfers, reviewing timekeeping, completing performance evaluations, mentoring, training, and coaching
  • maintain safe working conditions and compliance with all regulations regarding health and safety
  • follow all good manufacturing practices and company regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • perform other duties as assigned
