- Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations
- Ability to understand financial controls and cost management

Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or apprenticeship or certification from culinary school
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
- Understanding and demonstration of financial controls such as maintaining food costs within budget and minimizing waste
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Service orientation
- Leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
Job Duties
- Execute and supervise food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking of food items
- Assume responsibilities of Executive Chef during absences including menu presentations and customer interactions
- Supervise, coordinate and control kitchen helpers in food storage and preparation adhering to first in - first out principle
- Conduct, coordinate and supervise inventories
- Monitor material consumption and order required food and equipment daily to meet production plans
- Participate in development of food products and menus for presentations
- Maintain and monitor hygiene, health and safety standards and ensure HACCP regulations are followed
- Conduct quality control checks according to HACCP and monitor compliance with recipe specifications
- Support training of kitchen helpers
- Organize, staff and direct kitchen team
- Guide, motivate and develop subordinate employees according to Human Resources policy
- Implement and control cost budget and initiate corrective actions when necessary
- Participate and support initiatives like Global Quality Standard, HACCP, and Lean Manufacturing
