Job Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of college with emphasis in transportation or supply chain preferred
  • 2-4 years of general work experience
  • prior experience in inventory control or production planning preferred
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • able to lift 50 lbs repetitively
  • able to work outside normal hours when needed
  • ability to adapt to a moderately noisy and physically active work environment
  • willingness to travel approximately 5% to other company locations
  • completion of new hire orientation and company safety training
  • compliance with allergen awareness and diversity and harassment training
  • adherence to personal protective equipment policies

Job Duties

  • Review daily production runs and material uses
  • ensure that consumption and production is entered correctly and inventories balance
  • input and review daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production raw material inventory counts
  • identify items to be recounted and research variances
  • develop weekly production schedule to support sales needs and maximize production efficiency
  • work with production managers to incorporate raw materials, maintenance, QA downtime, safety training, and operator training into the production schedule
  • order all required raw materials to support production requirements
  • track purchase orders to meet monthly budgets and assist senior management in budgeting
  • track and monitor promotions for produced goods and provide updates on status
  • work flexible hours including outside normal working times when needed
  • control transportation costs by adhering to routing guides
  • coordinate with warehouse and production staff to assist with dock scheduling
  • update management on carrier constraints, weather, road closures affecting delivery
  • hold vendors accountable for performance based on metrics
