Job Requirements

  • Flexible scheduling, available any shift, any day
  • Able to lift 25 to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for entire shift
  • Able to do simple math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and simple fractions
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug-screening
  • Must have passed a TB test dated or issued within 12 months of hire or at age 16 or older
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments including ambient temperatures up to 100 degrees, A/C rooms as low as 50 degrees, and walk-in chills and freezers at minus 10 degrees

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous bakery experience and dough mixing experience required
  • Ability to operate various bakery mixers
  • Skillful in preparing different types of cake batters, yeast products, short doughs, fancy pastry goods, laminated doughs
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to teach, guide and coach others
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Effective communication skills with people at all levels
  • Adaptable and able to accept direction

Job Duties

  • Operate various bakery equipment such as large mixers and reversible sheeter in a safe and efficient manner
  • Mix various types of batters and doughs including laminated doughs and chiffon batters
  • Execute efficient, high quality and timely production of items
  • Utilize skills and knowledge to troubleshoot quality issues during production
  • Train new team members
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Assist on oven, bread bench or any production position as needed
  • Communicate with management team daily regarding production issues and needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation practices and standards at all times
  • Lead by example regarding safety policies and notify management of safety concerns
