Job Requirements
- 4-year degree in theater with technical emphasis or equivalent professional experience
- at least 3 years of relevant performing arts center or theater experience
- comprehensive knowledge of stage operations and maintenance
- adherence to OSHA and safety regulations
- familiarity with fire and public safety protocols
- supervisory experience preferred
- proven leadership and communication capabilities
- strong organizational skills
- effective customer service aptitude
- capacity to juggle multiple competing priorities
- adaptability to fluctuating work conditions
- ability to train and direct union personnel
- competency in interpreting technical documents and schedules
- budget preparation and management skills
- computer literacy
Job Qualifications
- 4-year degree in theater with technical emphasis or professional equivalence
- minimum 3 years experience working in a performing arts center or theater
- knowledge of operations, maintenance, and stage management
- working knowledge of OSHA, state, and other safety regulations
- working knowledge of fire and public safety issues
- prior supervisory experience preferred
- strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- ability to train, assign, and motivate union stage and front-of-house personnel
- ability to read and work from blueprints, sketches, and preventive maintenance schedules
- ability to prepare and operate within a department budget
- proficient computer skills
Job Duties
- Coordinate with licensee all pre-performance technical requirements
- Oversee load-ins, set ups, show runs and strikes for all shows including civic events, Broadway shows, symphony performances and national concert tours
- Coordinate backstage logistics for shows with local Stage Employees Union business representative
- Prepare and coordinate "back of house" event information with the event manager
- Coordinate "front of house" details for specified events
- Prepare the event estimate and update the client and event file with changes in the estimate
- Prepare and process stage employee union payroll
- Process production vendor charges and steward vendor relationships
- Supervise a preventative maintenance program for light, sound, and backstage equipment
- Recommend capital purchases or improvements to General Manager
- Provide training, safe working conditions and welfare of stage employees in compliance with policies, union guidelines, EEO and OSHA regulations
- Serve as Event Manager on Duty as required
