Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • three years of professional experience in technical direction or production management in a performing arts facility or similar venue
  • applicable experience with lighting and audio
  • valid Arizona Driver License at time of hire
  • ability to maintain valid driver’s license
  • must pass background screening including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle checks
  • able to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • three years of professional experience in technical direction or production management
  • experience with lighting and audio implementation
  • knowledge of touring technical management
  • theatrical production organization skills
  • preferred bachelor’s degree in related field

Job Duties

  • Oversee all production related aspects of Surprise Arts events including festivals and community shows
  • coordinate show advance and manage logistical details for performances
  • schedule and supervise production crews
  • oversee production phases from planning to execution
  • advise on purchasing and maintenance of production equipment
  • ensure safety and quality standards are met during all performances
  • collaborate with venue owners and staff to align production needs
