Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- one year of experience in event planning and support
- ability to work nights and weekends
- Texas Class C driver’s license obtained within 30 days of hire
- must obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications within six months of employment
- ability to work at heights and operate lifts and rigging safely
- strength to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 pounds
- pass drug test, driver license check, criminal history background check, periodic CJIS background check, and social security number verification
- regular attendance and punctuality
- good physical endurance and mobility
- ability to communicate effectively
- willingness to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration or related field preferred
- one year of experience in planning and supporting a wide variety of events in a multi-user performance facility
- knowledge of large crowd safety practices
- event organization and management procedures
- theater and special event operations
- typical theatrical lighting and sound system operations
- public assembly management
- industry safety and security policies, procedures, and practices
- skill in establishing priorities
- managing multiple projects simultaneously
- effective verbal and written communication
- mechanical aptitude
- task allocation to assigned staff
- computer operation
Job Duties
- Organizes and schedules technical activities in Plano Stages venues or Division led events/festivals including event advancement, load-in/load-out of equipment and materials for production, technical rehearsals, and set up/change-over of equipment
- contacts event organizers to coordinate event needs
- conducts regularly scheduled inspection of all theatrical systems and components, schedules repairs, recommends equipment replacement when justified, and provides associated reports
- assigns tasks to event staff
- logs event notes
- conducts site visits with event organizers
- obtains feedback after each event
- aids in event coordination, setup, and teardown for performances
- ensures regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential
