Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership skills
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to comply with safety and hygiene procedures
  • Capability to handle exposure to moving mechanical parts, hot and humid conditions, loud noise
  • Ability to perform climbing, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling routinely
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain logs and complete paperwork

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor employees
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in manufacturing
  • Ability to analyze quality and machine data
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Job Duties

  • Coordinate the production floor schedule with supervisors and production schedulers daily
  • Crew appropriately to estimate run times and inform supervisor of production issues
  • Assist in developing One Point Lessons (OPL) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for training
  • Help employees resolve issues and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Communicate company policies to team members and act as liaison between supervisors and employees
  • Complete time approvals, research pay issues, validate punches and manage work centers as needed
  • Provide input for and assist in conducting team member evaluations
  • Maintain materials and equipment for packing finished goods
  • Oversee onboarding and training of new employees
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S, centerline, CWOW pillar meetings, and daily direction meetings
  • Coordinate sanitation functions and perform scheduled sanitation and shutdown cleanup duties
  • Perform Leader Standard Work to uphold standards, centerlines, and key performance metrics
  • Prepare and audit end of shift paperwork for accuracy
  • Ensure completion and submission of logs for daily activities
  • Communicate continuously with employees and departments to identify and resolve gaps in knowledge, process, tools, and supplies
  • Analyze Quality and Machine data to identify trends, implement corrections, and suggest improvements
  • Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain processing standards
  • Check scales, baggers, and production distribution systems for efficient packaging runs
  • Lead shift quality checks and suggest necessary adjustments
  • Ensure case label printers are operational and labels used properly on all lines
  • Handle and label product run off appropriately
  • Ensure first case quality checks are completed and accurate
  • Coordinate with Quality Control on product holds
  • Enforce safety and hygiene guidelines and procedures
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Report defective equipment and job related injuries
  • Fill in for supervisor as needed and work mandatory overtime as required
  • Perform other duties as required
