Job Requirements

  • Previous baking experience in a high volume bakery
  • Basic bakery skills and knowledge of bakery terminology
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment safely

  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures in food production
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Ability to follow recipes and work under a fluctuating workload
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs

  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Culinary degree or vocational training preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the preparation of basic bakery items for a high volume bakery
  • Basic bakery skills and a good understanding of bakery terminology and equipment
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in time management
  • Advanced ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of the rules and procedures of sanitation and safety as they apply to production, storage, and service within a food establishment
  • Skill in operating equipment such as stand mixers, food processors, knives, blenders, ovens, dishwashers, and more
  • Ability to measure dry and liquid foodstuffs in units of measurement such as cup, pint, quart, pound, ounce, and gram
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout an eight hour shift on uncarpeted surfaces
  • Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to fifty pounds such as bags of supplies and cases of food products
  • Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Skill in adding and subtracting whole numbers, decimals and fractions sufficient to properly adhere to production and customer flow parameters
  • Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload
  • Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and directions
  • Flexible and adaptable - able to prioritize tasks and work with competing tensions and deadlines
  • Self-starter who shows initiative and innovation skills
  • Team player who works well with various personalities and has consistent positive influence within the team
  • Enthusiastically embraces Fat Rabbit's vision for producing the best bakery products
  • Ability or willingness to travel as needed on occasion
  • College degree and culinary school degree or vocational training preferred
  • Proven baker with 3+ years experience in a professional baking position
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment machinery
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards
  • Completed ServSafe course preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist baking team in preparations of cakes, pastries and other items
  • Maintain the premises of baking area in a neat and hygienic manner
  • Assist baking team in lifting heavy baking items
  • Assist baking team in operating baking machineries
  • Work autonomously on prep shifts
  • Maintain and sanitize baking utensils, tools, implements and machinery
  • Strictly adhere to food safety laws and standards while preparing bakery products
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
