Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, chemical or food engineering or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in product development, formulation, scale-up, or food lab related roles
- Knowledge and practical application of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, and food safety standards
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Ability to work full-time on-site
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, chemical or food engineering or related field preferred
- 3+ years of product development, formulation, scale-up experience, food lab experience or related education
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, sanitation, HACCP, AIB, or SQF
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards
- Knowledge of food science, nutrition, or chemistry
- Knowledge of sanitation techniques and willingness to support assigned areas
- Knowledge of analytics and business acumen
- Knowledge of food formulation, reformulation, and recipe development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation and stakeholder management
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Gmail, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics
- Skills in data entry and database management
- Proven team management and project leadership skills
- Math, calculation, data collection, analysis, and presentation skills
- Organizational skills for maintaining kitchen and laboratory areas
- Ability to interface with customers and internal teams
- Highly motivated, critical thinker, goal-oriented, adaptable to change and ambiguity

Job Duties
- Bring product ideas to fruition for foods and drinks as part of the Product Development group
- Manage development, scale up and implementation of new and existing technologies to improve product performance and develop new products
- Lead scientifically developed foods and drinks using innovative techniques for new product creation and continuous improvement
- Project manage product development from concept to scaled-up manufacturing
- Serve as technical resource for marketing to develop a pipeline of product development opportunities, including creating project plans and timelines
- Lead product formulation including ingredient identification and validation, nutritional analysis, nutrition facts panel (NFP) creation, and regulatory compliance
- Develop, implement, and execute creative product development activities to meet product goals and deadlines
- Establish production processes and train team members
- Manage databases, record samples, track formulations, and document requests
- Act as ingredient lead for assigned ingredients, qualifying new raw materials and suppliers
- Monitor and maintain product standards requiring scientific procedures
- Explore innovative applications of product and process technology
- Coordinate activities between external and internal teams for product development
- Maintain kitchen and product development lab areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices
- Perform lab and kitchen activities supporting food safety, sanitation, and hygiene
- Provide leadership and coaching to meet project goals and deadlines
- Apply HACCP, food safety fundamentals, allergen validation, and process capability practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
