Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior grocery retail management experience in produce
- strong leadership and team management skills
- excellent communication abilities
- physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks
- valid Food Handlers permit
- flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- capability to handle lifting and moving heavy items
- knowledge of inventory and merchandising practices
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age
- have 1-3 years of experience in grocery retail with produce management experience
- possess good communication skills
- ability to take direction and participate in team environment
- basic math skills including weights and measures knowledge
- ability to perform general housekeeping, cleaning and sanitizing work areas
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift objects up to 50 lbs
- ability to operate a pallet jack and maneuver carts
- achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- working knowledge of personnel and financial reports
- outgoing and positive attitude towards team members and customers
Job Duties
- responsible for quality control, merchandising, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the produce department
- responsible for inventory management
- engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions
- recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions with Store Manager
- exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and document corrective actions
- create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure productivity
- communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
- lead the team to deliver quality products and outstanding customer experience
- serve as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
