Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach to stock shelves
  • must have visual and hearing acuity
  • consistently perform repetitive tasks
  • ability to use hands and fingers to reach, lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • manual dexterity for the ability to use knives, cutters and other tools for trimming and preparing produce
  • ability to speak to, hear, and understand others via phone and in person in English
  • must be available to work a flexible schedule including a variety of shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends including overtime, as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn about fruits, vegetables and proper handling techniques
  • strong attention to detail
  • good customer service and communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • basic math and reading skills
  • must be able to follow safety and food handling guidelines
  • previous experience in a grocery or produce department is a plus

Job Duties

  • Stock and replenish produce
  • rotate inventory
  • inspect produce quality
  • maintain cleanliness
  • assist customers
  • set up displays
  • support front-end staff when necessary
  • monitor and maintain proper storage
  • handle and prepare produce
  • operate equipment safely
  • support inventory management
  • follow food safety standards
  • perform all other duties as assigned
