Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years purchasing or supply chain experience
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Experience managing supplier relations
  • Familiarity with procurement and inventory systems
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Commitment to compliance with safety and environmental policies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred
  • Several years of progressive purchasing or strategic sourcing experience
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and supply chain processes
  • Experience with inventory management and procurement systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Proficient in data analysis and KPI development
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and financial compliance requirements

Job Duties

  • Coordinate activities for buying, distributing, and paying for materials, supplies, and services
  • Interface with other departments to ensure process completion and compliance
  • Review purchase requisitions, approve, issue purchase orders, and receive goods
  • Manage the supply chain balancing supplier relationships and new development
  • Develop, review, evaluate, and approve specifications for bids
  • Represent mill in negotiating contracts and pricing
  • Resolve claims related to vendor or contractor service or quality failures
  • Create, implement and monitor local KPIs for purchasing
  • Develop year-over-year cost reductions and countermeasures
  • Participate on corporate strategic sourcing teams and lead local sourcing initiatives
  • Oversee onsite storeroom inventory and manage MRO purchase levels
  • Oversee capital warehouse inventory balances and turns
