Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or biochemistry
  • 1 to 5+ years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced pilot scale laboratory setting
  • Physically able to perform pilot scale operations
  • Knowledge of protein purification techniques
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software systems
  • Ability to maintain lab equipment and ensure safety compliance
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or biochemistry
  • 1 to 5+ years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong understanding of protein purification techniques
  • Experience with downstream development
  • Familiarity with tangential flow filters, chromatography systems, ultrafiltration/diafiltration skids
  • Knowledge of software tools such as Empower, Unicorn, JMP, LIMS, PI Historian
  • Experience with raman spectroscopy or software programming is a plus
  • Ability to design experiments with proper controls
  • Strong scientific curiosity and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Manage and organize experimental data more independently
  • Execute experiments and projects using established procedures
  • Perform routine technical tasks and basic data entry and analysis
  • Train and become proficient in laboratory instrumentation and data systems
  • Support technology development and improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to technology and automation development to increase throughput and speed
  • Build relationships within the subgroup, train peers, and assist co-op students or interns
