Job Requirements

  • maintain current licenses and certifications required for the position

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • registered current paramedic license in state of residence
  • current paramedic license in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and/or North Carolina preferred
  • current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification preferred
  • minimum of one year experience as a paramedic
  • completion of ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800 courses
  • ICS 300 and ICS 400 to be completed upon hire within 3 months
  • proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • ability to perform physical tasks including walking, stretching, bending, and lifting up to or exceeding 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • collect, enter, and ensure documentation for medical staff at designated sites
  • maintain confidentiality of healthcare records and adhere to HIPAA and PHI requirements
  • perform and supervise medical staff in clinic duties as directed
  • direct, train, and coordinate medical staff and services following established policies and regulations
  • monitor health care plans within designated service timeframes
  • assist with process improvement in medical protocols and procedures
  • participate in or supervise incident management workforce for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery
  • be flexible and receptive to serving in various roles during critical incidents
  • solve operational issues and achieve short-term performance goals
  • support survivors and communities during disasters
  • maintain personal readiness to deploy within 6-12 hours of activation
  • update availability monthly via mobile application
  • maintain active status through regular check-ins and communications
  • work 12+ hour shifts consecutively in austere conditions
  • direct and train staff per local, state, and federal guidelines
  • exercise emotional intelligence in communication
  • perform other duties as assigned
