Job Requirements

  • Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position
  • Adhere to professional integrity and comply with all laws and regulations
  • Provide proof of valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Respond sensitively to cultural and socio-economic characteristics of service population
  • Work collaboratively with staff and clients
  • Communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • Maintain computer literacy, especially Microsoft Suite
  • Be detail oriented and organized
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Work extended and non-traditional hours
  • Travel for extended periods
  • Utilize various communication systems for situational awareness
  • Accept alternate sleeping arrangements when necessary
  • Pass scheduled or random drug screenings

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered current paramedic license in state of residence
  • Preferred paramedic licenses in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and/or North Carolina
  • Current NREMT preferred
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience as a paramedic
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses required
  • ICS 300 and ICS 400 to be completed within three months of hire

Job Duties

  • Collect, enter, and ensure documentation for medical staff at designated sites
  • Maintain confidentiality of healthcare records in compliance with HIPAA and National EMR protocols
  • Perform and occasionally supervise medical staff clinic duties
  • Direct, train, and coordinate medical staff and services in accordance with policies and regulations
  • Monitor established healthcare plans for service populations within set timeframes
  • Assist with process improvement by reviewing and updating medical protocols
  • Participate in or supervise incident management workforce for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery
