Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-1 year of food service and/or sanitation experience
  • Availability to work per diem schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to adhere to food safety and infection control standards
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and food preparation tasks
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic math skills to manage cash transactions

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve simple hot and cold food items to patients, visitors, and hospital staff according to HACCP procedures
  • Date and label all food products and ensure proper handling to maintain infection control and safety
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area including cleaning equipment, tables, floors, and related areas using appropriate chemicals and procedures
  • Manage food supplies, services and equipment to ensure effective, economical usage and proper storage
  • Provide friendly and competent customer service attending to individual patient and visitor needs
  • Accurately handle money transactions at registers and account for receipts, merchandise and property
  • Comply with city, state health codes and Joint Commission regulations while following HACCP guidelines daily
