Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow state and federal food safety regulations
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work flexible PRN shifts including last-minute assignments
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and team members
Job Qualifications
- Enjoys and takes pride in cooking
- Previous job experience and scratch cooking experience preferred but not required
- Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work deadlines
- Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs
Job Duties
- Prepares food in accordance with state and federal guidelines and established policies and procedures
- Ensures that special diets are followed and that food is prepared in a timely manner
- Works directly with the Executive Chef, Director of Dining Services and Dietitian to plan and prepare meals
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as other departments to guarantee that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of residents
