Job Requirements

  • education level: formal culinary training preferred
  • experience: 5-10 plus years of professional culinary experience
  • transportation: must have reliable transportation within home base
  • flexibility to accommodate last-minute schedule changes
  • strong budgeting and nutritional planning skills
  • physical ability to perform cooking and kitchen responsibilities
  • ability to maintain discretion and professionalism
  • willingness to travel domestically and internationally with principal

Job Qualifications

  • 5-10 plus years of professional culinary experience
  • private household experience strongly preferred
  • formal culinary training preferred but not required
  • multi-cuisine versatility with balance of nutrition-driven and fine dining techniques
  • calm, discreet, and professional demeanor

  • flexibility and adaptability
  • creativity with leftovers to minimize waste
  • deep understanding of healthy balanced diets

Job Duties

  • full ownership of culinary function including menu planning, sourcing, stocking, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleanup
  • reporting maintenance issues to house manager or principal
  • nutritional oversight with health-conscious planning and ability to calculate macros
  • budgeting and making weekly reports on culinary expenses
  • preference for local and organic sourcing with relationships to farmers markets and specialty purveyors
  • meal preparation for off-days and travel periods
  • hosting support for small, intimate dinners and gatherings
