This job opportunity is with a leading security screening provider specializing in pre-departure security checks at airports. The company operates in the aviation security industry, playing a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of airports, air carriers, their staff, and passengers. Their primary focus is to prevent hijacking and other criminal acts by conducting thorough screening of all persons and property intended to be carried into sterile airport areas or aircraft cabins. This includes the use of advanced screening equipment such as walk-through metal detectors, X-ray machines, hand-held metal detectors, as well as comprehensive physical inspections.

Job Requirements
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact to deal with various situations and individuals
- Ability to lift, carry or hold up to 75 lbs
- Physical exam may be required
- Must be able to read identification badges, credentials and labels
- Must be able to open latches, zippers and screw caps and inspect baggage contents
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms with background noise
- Manual dexterity to operate security equipment
- Ability to verbally direct in English
- Ability to sit, stand, lift and bend throughout shift
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- No criminal convictions
- Must have reliable transportation and telephone
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military or public contact preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation and telephone
- Ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Ability to perceive colors on x-ray monitors and metal detector visual alarms
Job Duties
- Provide pre-departure security screening of persons and property using screening equipment and physical inspections
- Monitor walk-thru metal detectors, x-ray machines and hand-held metal detectors for alarms
- Conduct physical bag searches to ensure items are free of dangerous objects
- Notify law enforcement or airline security personnel when contraband or dangerous items are detected
- Verbally detain persons without using physical restraint when necessary
- Assist disabled passengers and handle passenger incidents appropriately
- Maintain records, reports, and communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to supervisors
- Adhere to company policies, regulations and security screener code of conduct
