Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum age of 18 years
- U.S. citizenship
- reliable transportation and telephone
- ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- ability to perceive colors and alarms on screening devices
- ability to read and understand instructions in English
- manual dexterity for screening equipment operation
- strong communication skills
- pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- no criminal convictions
- able to endure physical demands throughout the work shift
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- previous airline experience preferred
- previous security, military, or public contact experience preferred
- must be a U.S. citizen
- must be 18 years of age or older
- possess tact to deal with all levels of situations and people
- ability to understand, read, and write in English
- able to lift, carry, and hold up to 75 lbs
- capable of perceiving colors on x-ray monitors and metal detector alarms
- able to read identification badges, labels, and credentials
- manual dexterity to operate screening equipment
- ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms
- able to reach all parts of standing adult body with hand or metal detector
- able to sit, stand, bend, and lift throughout shift
- no criminal convictions

Job Duties
- Provide pre-departure security screening of all persons and property using walk-thru metal detectors, x-ray machines, and hand-held metal detectors
- conduct physical inspections of bags and items upon alarm activation
- enforce compliance with government, airport, client and company regulations
- communicate with passengers and staff courteously and effectively
- notify law enforcement or airline security personnel of suspicious or dangerous items
- ensure safe handling and control of weapons or contraband until law enforcement arrives
- verbally detain persons when necessary without physical restraint
- assist disabled passengers and handle incident reporting
- maintain cleanliness and operational logs
- attend training and meetings as required
- adhere to company policies and code of conduct
- wear proper uniform and keep identification badges visible
- operate screening equipment with manual dexterity
- respond to safety hazards and equipment issues promptly
- perform other duties as assigned
