Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military, or public contact preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation and telephone
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact to deal with various situations and people
- Ability to lift, carry, or hold up to 75 lbs
- Ability to perceive colors on x-ray monitors or alarms
- Ability to read identification badges, credentials and labels
- Ability to operate screening equipment with manual dexterity
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and alarms
- Ability to verbally communicate in English
- Ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- No criminal convictions

Job Duties
- Provide pre-departure security screening of all persons and property
- Use walk-thru metal detectors, x-ray machines, hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections
- Prevent hijacking or other criminal acts
- Ensure security for aircraft, airports, air carriers and staff
- Examine all items placed in divest containers or physically inspected
- Notify law enforcement or airline ground security coordinator when necessary
- Verbally detain persons when appropriate without physical restraint
